Introduction to Mysore

This Introduction to Mysore course is intended for students interested in learning the traditional method of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. The  course is designed for the absolute beginner, yogis transitioning from other styles and led classes, and more experienced practitioners looking to rebuild their practice after time away or recovery from an injury. Instruction will be given during the on-going evening Mysore classes to which you are being introduced.

This is a month long journey 3-4 days a week introduction to Ashtanga mysore-style practice. You will learn one posture at a time, allowing you to memorize the correct sequence and breathing patterns; as you become proficient in a posture you will be taught the following one. Through consistent practice under close guidance you will develop the skill of concentration, breath and body awareness, and endurance needed for this practice. By the end of the course you will be comfortable with both mysore-style practice and seated meditation. This course will prepare you to continue in the ongoing mysore program (evening or morning) at The Breathing Space. This course is limited to five students.
